LLMs.txt Validator & Markdown Spec Linter
Validate any /llms.txt file against the llmstxt.org specification (# H1 title, > summary, ## H2 sections, annotated HTTPS links, and token count).
Line-by-line check against the llmstxt.org format, with a rough size estimate and a fix for relative links.
How to use this tool
Lints a pasted llms.txt file against the llmstxt.org structure and offers a repaired copy. Use it before you publish or after you edit the file.
- Paste your file into the llms.txt text box, or press Load Broken /llms.txt to see an example.
- Read the verdict, the spec score and the estimated token count.
- Go through the five rule rows. Each shows PASS, WARNING or FAIL with a fix suggestion.
- Press 1-Click Auto-Repair, then Copy Repaired /llms.txt.
What it checks
- An H1 title on the first line.
- A blockquote summary.
- H2 section headings.
- A list of markdown links, and how many have a colon description.
- Whether links use absolute https URLs instead of relative paths.
- A score out of 100 and a rough token estimate based on word count.
Questions
Does it fetch my live llms.txt?
No. You paste the content. The scan box sets the domain used to turn relative links into absolute ones during repair.
What does auto-repair do?
It rewrites the text into the expected structure and makes relative links absolute. Read the result before you publish it.
How is the token count worked out?
It is an estimate from the word count, not a real tokenizer.
